My name is Darlene Obiyan and I am a seasoned makeup up artist with over two decades of experience in the luxury retail beauty industry. My love for makeup started as a young girl watching my mother put on makeup so beautifully. After graduating from Chicago State University with a degree in Business Management, my interest in makeup continued to grow as I managed several retail establishments. Working in the retail world gave me the experience to help women from all ethnicities. What I discovered was that all women wanted to look their very best whether it was from just taking care of their skin with the right skincare products or by just learning a few tips and tricks with their own makeup. I soon realized that I had a passion for showing women just how to do that. In October of 2017, I decided to launch Beauty Is What I Do.

I am available to be on location for your model or for you. Whatever the look, I will execute it to your desire based on lighting, equipment used and theme of the shoot. Rest assured that your photos will be amazing on camera as well as in print. I am also available for half day or full day services as your professional makeup artist.
